PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's golf team will return to action on April 11-12 for three rounds of golf at the Rutgers Invitational.

THE COURSE:
Over 6,300 yards in length, the picturesque, tree-lined, PGA sanctioned course is a par 71 and offers a challenging layout with four teeing areas per hole. Highlights include narrow fairways, fast greens, and water hazards on seven holes. The 18-hole Rutgers University Golf Course is open to the general public and tee times start at 7 am weekdays and 6 am on weekends in the height of the season. Our targeted opening and closing dates, weather permitting, are March 1 and December 15.

Developed from a 9 hole facility, Rutgers University Golf Course was reopened on May 29, 1963 as an 18 hole facility. The course is located on Rutgers University's Busch Campus in Piscataway, and nearby points of interest are The Waksman Institute, Rutgers Medical School and multiple athletic facilities, including SHI Stadium. The mission of the course is to ensure that every player enjoys a timely round of golf played on superior fairways and true greens with uncompromising service and instruction.

THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Rutgers, the field is comprised of 14 other teams including: Albany, Boston University, Bucknell, Dartmouth, FDU, Iona, Lehigh, Monmouth, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Saint Francis (Pa.). BIG EAST competitors Georgetown and St. John's are also in the field.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

LAST TIME OUT:
Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) matched her career-best tournament performance to highlight the Seton Hall women's golf team as it finished play at the Georgia State Invitational on March 31.

Tran again turned in the top Seton Hall round of the day in round three, using a birdie and 13 pars to pace a 3-over-par, 75. Her third-round effort pushed her four additional spots up the player leader board to a tie for 20th place among 88 individual golfers.Â

As a team, The Hall remained in 11th place following a 21-over-par, 309, in round three. For the tournament, the Pirates were 57-over-par with a 306-306-309-921. Host Georgia State won the team title by three strokes over second-place Emory.

Sophomore Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) struggled a bit in round three, finishing with a 7-over-par, 79, but was still the second-best Seton Hall performer for the tournament. For the event, she tied for 34th place with a 12-over-par, 75-74-79-228.Â

LAST TIME AT RUTGERS:
Kasumi Tran shot an even-par, 71, in the final round to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to second-place finish at the 2025 Rutgers Invitational. Tran had her best round of the spring, using five birdies to fuel an even round. For the tournament, she tied for 14th place with a 15-over-par, 81-76-71-228.

The top individual golfer for Seton Hall for the weekend was Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain). The Pirates' newcomer had three birdies in route to a 2-over-par, 73, in round three. For the tournament, she tied for fifth place among 92 individual golfers with a 12-over-par, 75-77-73-225.

As a team, The Hall moved up one spot on in round three to finish second behind host Rutgers. The Pirates had their best round of the tournament in round three with a 13-over-par, 297. For the three-round event, Seton Hall was 59-over-par with a 309-305-297-911. Rutgers, playing on their home course, won the event going away at 29-over-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, St. John's, finished tied for 10th at 102-over-par.

SCHEDULE:
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. On Sunday, there will be one final round, also with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Dartmouth and Quinnipiac on Saturday, beginning on holes 1 through 4.
