Women's Basketball To Open Season Tonight In Exhibition Game

The Seton Hall women's basketball team hosts the Swedish team Eos/Malbas tonight in a 7:00 pm exhibition game at Walsh Gymnasium to kick off the 2000-01 season.

Eos/Malbas is a Swedish club team founded in 1996 from clubs in Lund and Malmo, Sweden. The team consists of 10 players from Sweden and one from Denmark. Several team members played college basketball in the United States at places such as Oregon State, Virginia Tech and Clemson.

Last night in the club's first of nine exhibition games on the east coast, Eos/Malbas lost to Rutgers, 91-44. The team plays at the University of Connecticut tomorrow night, followed by games vs. Maryland, Georgetown, Villanova, St. John's, Providence and Boston College.

This is the first of two exhibition games for the Pirates. Seton Hall takes on Stevens Tech on Friday, November 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Walsh Gym. Seton Hall's season-opener is Saturday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. against Long Island University in Walsh Gym.
