George Washington and Ohio State Highlight Non-Conference Slate
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - A road game at Ohio State, a home contest against George Washington and another tough BIG EAST Conference slate highlight the 2000-01 Seton Hall women's basketball schedule.
The Pirates have the potential to play seven games against 2000 NCAA Tournament teams, culminating in a game vs. defending national champion Connecticut at home in the regular season finale on Feb. 27. In addition to NCAA teams Boston College (twice), Notre Dame and Rutgers and George Washington, the Pirates could meet St. Joseph's in the final day of the Hawk Classic in Philadelphia.
"This is a very competitive schedule," said Seton Hall head coach Phyllis Mangina, who is entering her 16th year. "Obviously there is great competition in the BIG EAST as usual, but with Ohio State, George Washington and the St. Joseph's tournament we have an outstanding out-of-conference schedule as well."
Seton Hall will open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 18 against Long Island University at Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates will then travel to Virginia Commonwealth on Nov. 21, meet in-state rival Monmouth on Nov. 25 at home and play at Ohio State on Nov. 29 to close out the month.

The remaining BIG EAST home dates are: Notre Dame (Jan. 21), Boston College (Jan. 31), Miami (Feb. 10), Virginia Tech (Feb. 24) and Connecticut (Feb. 27).
