Women's Basketball Inks Ashley Bush to Letter of Intent

Bush, who is a senior at Frederick High School, averaged 14.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.7 steals this past season.
"Ashley is an incredibly impressive and versatile young person," Mangina said. "She is a tremendous player and student and we think that she's going to be a great addition to the Seton Hall community."
Bush was named the Frederick News-Post Player of the Year and Associated Press First Team All-Maryland after a stellar sophomore season, but missed her junior year due to a torn ACL in her right knee suffered in the preseason. She returned to lead her team to the Central Maryland Conference title as a senior, earning the News-Post Player of the Year award for the second time.
Also a stellar student, Bush is a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Government Association, the Women Excelling Beyond Club and she has been an honor roll student for the past six years.
Bush joins 5-9 guard Asia Carroll (Hampton, VA), 6-3 forward Love Brown (Norfolk, VA) and 5-8 guard Melissa Langelier (Ste. Rosalie, Quebec) as Seton Hall's newcomers for next season. Brown and Langelier sat out last season but practiced with the Pirates. Brown was a partial qualifier and Langelier is a transfer from the University of Kentucky. Carroll is a senior at Bethel High School.
Seton Hall finished the 2000-01 season with a 16-12 record and a 9-7 mark in the BIG EAST Conference, good for sixth place. Seton Hall will lose seniors Starr Fuller, Devin Jefferson and Arminda Moreno from its current squad.
