Cross Country Teams in Action at ECAC/IC4A Championships

BRONX, NY - The Seton Hall men’s women’s cross country team raced Saturday morning at the ECAC/IC4A Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. The men's team finished seventh, while the women's team finished 14th. New Hampshire captured both the men’s and women’s titles with point totals of, 28 and 54, respectively.
The top male finisher for the Pirates was senior John Byrne (Dunmore, PA/Berkshire School), who finished with a time of 26:42 for 19th place. The top female finisher was junior Cecile Evans (East Orange, NJ/Essex County College), who finished 37th with a time of 19:59.
For the men, senior Dwayne Thomas (Burtonsville, MD) finished 37th (27:22), sophomore Ryan Colardeau (New Ipswich, NH / Mascenic Regional) finished 60th (28:08), junior Chad Sultzer (Archbald, PA/Valley View) finished 71st (28:36), freshman Shane Giblin (Novi, MI/Brother Rice) finished 78th (28:36), freshman Alex Currie (Delphi, IN/Delphi) finished 84th (29:23), freshman Desmond Perkins finished 87th (29:26) and freshman Dan Foley (Philadelphia, PA/Cardinal Dougherty) finished 94th (30:00).
On the women’s side, graduate student Kaneisha Campbell (Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood), who recorded a 78th-place finish with a time of 21:06, Crystal Anyanwu (Beltsville, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt), who finished 82nd (21:17), junior Tameka Johnson (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) in 94th-place (21:58) and graduate student Sophia Smellie (St. Catherine, Jamaica/St. Jago), who was 101st (22:36). In addition, junior Andrea Austin (Hollywood, FL/Boyd Anderson) finished 102rd (22:45) and senior Ruby Jackson (Upland, PA/Chester) was 103rd (22:54).
