Cross Country Competes At George Washington Invitational

CENTREVILLE, VA - The Seton Hall men’s and women’s cross country teams finished 10th and 12th, respectively at the George Washington Invitational on Saturday. William & Mary won the men’s division with 27 points, while Georgetown won the women’s division with a total of 34 points.
The top male finisher for the Pirates was senior John Byrne (Dunmore, PA/Berkshire School), who finished with a time of 28:41 for 58th place. The top female was junior Andrea Austin (Hollywood, FL/Boyd Anderson) who finished 63rd with a time of 21:38.
For the men, freshman Shane Giblin finished 69th (29:05), junior Chad Sultzer (Archbald, PA/Valley View) finished 83rd (29:36), sophomore Ryan Colardeau (New Ipswich, NH / Mascenic Regional) finished 105th (30:11), freshman Desmond Perkins finished 116th (30:48), freshman Dan Foley (Philadelphia, PA/Cardinal Dougherty) finished 123rd (31:07), freshman Alex Currie (Delphi, IN/Delphi) finished 139th (32:14), freshman Sean Mullan finished 144th (32:48), senior Dwight McCaulsky (St. Andrew, Jamaca/Calabar) finished 152nd (34:14), freshman George Bruk finished 157th (35:39) and senior Ronnell Ingram (Kansas City, MO/Kansas City Kansas CC) finished 163rd (36:55).
On the women’s side freshman Crystal Anyanwu (Beltsville, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt) finished 67th (21:54), graduate student Sophia Smellie (St. Catherine, Jamaica/St. Jago) finished 88th (22:38), graduate student Kaneisha Campbell (Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) finished 102nd (23:20), senior Ruby Jackson (Upland, PA/Chester) finished 127th (24:39) and junior Katrina Holder (St. George, Barbados/The Lodge School) finished 145th (26:37).
The Pirates will next be in action on Oct. 3, at the Metropolitan Championship, at Van Cortlandt Park, in the Bronx, NY.
