Cross Country Competes at Rider Invitational

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men’s and women’s cross country teams on Saturday competed in their second race of the year, when they ran at the Bronc Invitational in Lawrenceville, N.J. The men’s team finished fourth, out of four teams, with 78 points, and was once again paced by senior Justin Wood (Walton, N.Y.), who came in third place, with a time of 25:37.60. Sophomore Kerry Cahill (Hillsborough, N.J.) led the women’s team, finishing the race in 14th, with a time of 19:51.30. The women also finished in fourth, with 101 total points.
For the men, freshman Tom Walsh (Matawan, N.J.) came in 15th, with a time of 26:55.50, freshman Rob Novak (Bordentown, N.J.) finished in 27:33.60, coming in 23rd, sophomore Brendan Meehan (Woburn, Mass.) and freshman Terrance Gallogly (Providence, R.I.) finished 25th and 26th, with times of 27:37.70 and 27:47.30 respectively, and freshman Nick Campbell (Warwick, R.I.) came in 36th, finishing in 28:36.50.
The other top finishers for the women were junior Crystal Anyanwu (Beltsville, Md.), who came in 16th, with a time of 20:06.00, junior Robin Kneblick (Burleson, Texas), finishing 40th in 22:14.20, freshman Jackie Hobb, running the race in 22:58.60, good for 43rd, and sophomore Rose Abrams, 46th place, with a time of 23:05.70.
Marist won the men’s event, finishing the race with 34 team points, and Rutgers was victorious on the women’s side, with 18 points.
The Pirates will return to action next Saturday, when they will travel to Bull Run Park, Va. to compete in the George Washington Invitational.
