SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall has announced starting times and national television appearances for its women's basketball games for the 2006-07 season, it was announced Thursday. The Pirates will compete in three in-season tournaments, including the Seton Hall Basketball Classic at Walsh Gym, and will play a 16-game BIG EAST slate with games against each of the league’s members.
Seton Hall will appear on the BIG EAST-CSTV Game of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 5, when the Pirates take on Providence. Every conference team is included in the regular-season television broadcasts for the first time in league history. The league will also have all 11 BIG EAST Championship games televised for the first time.
Seton Hall will face 17 opponents that participated in the postseason last year, including the opponent in the season-opener, Kansas. The Pirates will open the season on Nov. 11 at the WBCA Classic in Kansas City, Mo., against the Jayhawks before facing either Iowa or Missouri State on Nov. 12.
SHU will face each of the 15 BIG EAST teams at least once, while facing Providence both home-and-away. The 12-team BIG EAST Conference Championship will be held March 3-6 at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Conn. Radio information will be announced at a later date. Game times are subject to change for television purposes.
