LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Seton Hall men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday afternoon. The men finished 24th overall and their top runner was sophomore Pawel Kornaszewski (Clifton, N.J.) who finished 72nd with a time of 32:42.5. The women took 27th place and were paced by junior Kerry Cahill (Hillsborough, N.J.). Cahill finished the course in 22:48.5, good enough for 88th place.
For the rest of the Pirate men, sophomore Rob Novak (Bordentown, N.J.) took 113th place, with a time of 33:35.2. Sophomore Terrance Gallogly (Providence, R.I.) ran in 33:43.2, to take 122nd place. Junior Patrick O’Neill (Southwick, Mass.) earned 162nd place, with a time of 36:44.5. Freshman Patrick McGovern (Granton, R.I.) finished in 37:23.5, taking 166th. Junior Greg Gomes (Somerset, N.J) rounded out the Seton Hall field with a 168th place, finishing the course in 39:22.0.
On the women’s side, freshman Diane Szaflarski (Clifton, N.J) took 156th place, with a time of 24:21.1. Sophomore Chavanne Hubbard (Somerset, N.J.) ran the race in 25:14.7 to take 170th place. Sophomore Jackie Hobbs (Monroe, N.C.) earned 173rd place, with a time of 25:18.0. Freshman Clare Byrne (Berkeley Heights, N.J) finished in 25:59.6, taking 180th. Senior Robin Kneblick (Burleson, Texas) went on to take 182nd with a time of 26:35.4. Senior Cassidy Powers (Blairstown, N.J) finished 185th, and had a time of 27:33.8.
The Pirates return to action on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park, in Bronx, N.Y.
