The Pirates are led in scoring by seniors Heta Korpivaara (12.7 ppg) and Monique Blake (12.5 ppg). Blake posted her third double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Army. Korpivaara is shooting a career-high 53.2 percent from the floor and has hit for double-figures in four games this year.
Seton Hall’s defense has helped spur its start to the season as opponents are shooting just .375 from the field. The Pirates are among the BIG EAST’s best, allowing just 56.7 points per game and in all four of SHU’s wins the defense has not given up more than 55 points.
Rizzotti, in her eighth season, has turned the Hawks into a perennial power in the America East, having won three conference championships in five years and led the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win last season.
