
Cross Country Races at Metropolitan Championships

BRONX, N.Y. - The Seton Hall cross country team competed at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, Oct. 5. A 13th place finish by junior Pawel Kornaszewski (Clifton, N.J.) (27:16) capped an eighth place finish for the men's squad. The women's team did not place in the top nine.
Junior Terrance Gallogly (Providence, R.I.) was the second male Pirate to finish, placing 31st (27:57). Freshman Thomas Corona (Fairfield, Conn.) crossed the finish line in 29:23 to finish 54th. Junior Rob Novak (Bordentown, N.J.) completed the race in 30:08 to place 60th. Freshman Patrick Nickerson rounded out the top five runners with a 62nd place finish (30:23).
For the women, senior Kerry Cahill (Hillsborough, N.J.) paced the team for the fourth straight meet. She finished 38th with a time of 20:51. Freshman Alexandra Hehn (Toms River, N.J.) took 43rd place, finishing in 21:03. Junior Chavanne Hubbard (Somerset, N.J.) placed 68th, completing the course in 22:02. Sophomore Clare Byrne (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) earned 84th place (22:45), and junior Jackie Hobbs (Monroe, N.C.) finished 88th (23:09).
Seton Hall returns to action at the Lafayette Invitational on Oct. 13.
