CHICAGO, Ill. The Seton Hall women’s basketball team fell at #25 DePaul on Wednesday night, 80-39. The Pirates (15-9, 3-8) are back in action on Saturday at USF, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Natasha Williams scored the first two field goals of the game, followed by a 3-pointer from Deirdre Naughton as DePaul took a 7-0 lead at the 18:15 mark. Sophomore Ebonie Williams (Hagerstown, Md.) and senior Noteisha Womack (Washington, D.C.) hit consecutive buckets to get the Pirates on the board, but the Blue Demons ran off the next six in a row to move ahead 13-4 with 15:36 left.
Sophomore Kashmere Joseph (London, England) snapped a 13-0 DePaul run to make it 26-8 with 9:26 on the clock. The lead quickly reached 20 again when Sam Quigley dropped in a 3-pointer for the Blue Demons with less than eight minutes left, and DePaul led by as many as 26 before taking a 41-16 lead into halftime.
The Hall trailed by as many as 42 in the second half.
Williams, Womack and freshman Kandice Green (Baltimore, Md.) led the Pirates with eight points each. Naughton paced the Blue Demons (19-6, 7-4) with 17 points.
