Consecutive 3-pointers from Stokes helped USF out to an 11-4 lead after three and a half minutes. The Pirates responded with a 10-2 run over the next four minutes, highlighted by a pair of buckets from junior Nicole Emery (Baldwin, N.Y.), to take a 14-13 edge.
Jasmine Wynne scored six straight during a 12-0 Bulls’ run that yielded a 25-14 lead at the 9:05 mark. The lead hit 12 when Shantia Grace rained in a 3-pointer four minutes later to give USF a 30-18 advantage. The Bulls led by as many as 16 in the first half before taking a 37-23 lead into halftime.
Stokes buried back-to-back 3-pointers in transition to cap an 8-0 spurt as USF took a 45-25 lead with 17:36 on the clock. She connected again from beyond the arc a minute later as the Bulls pushed the lead over 20 for the first time at 48-26.
USF led by as many as 37 down the stretch.
