
Cross Country Runs at Metropolitan Championships

BRONX, N.Y. - The Seton Hall cross country teams competed at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday. The men took 11th place, while the women were 13th.
Freshman Carl Johnston (Burrey, British Columbia) led the men with a 30th place finish in 27:20. Sophomore Jared Hanko (Montville, N.J.) followed with a 47th place performance in 28:11. Freshman Tony Cromond was next in 29:47 to take 69th, sophomore Mamadou Niang (North Caldwell, N.J.) took 72nd (30:22), and junior Erik Chester (Danieltown, Conn.) captured 73rd (30:32).
Sophomore Hughnique Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) anchored the women for the second straight week, taking home 48th place with a time of 20:45. Senior Alexandra Hehn (Toms River, N.J.) was next in 63rd (21:14), sophomore Eloisa Paredes (Clifton, N.J.) placed 72nd (23:39), senior Madison Wrest (Edmonds, Wash.) captured 81st (22:19), and senior KeAira Dickerson (Wilmington, Del.) was 84th (22;27).
The Pirates will travel to Easton, Pa. on October 16 for the Leopard Invitational, hosted by Lafayette, in their final tuneup before the BIG EAST Championships.
