Q&A with Erica Fitzpatrick
1. How did you get involved in the game of golf?
I played as a youngster and took a lot of lessons growing up. My little brother played with me as well.
2. Why did you choose Seton Hall?
I chose Seton Hall primarily due to funding. I also always wanted to go to the east coast for college and I love New York City! Finally, I came to Seton Hall for the great business program.
3. What challenges have you had to overcome on the golf course?
I have had to overcome the amount of patience and time it requires. It is very much a mental game and I do not like losing-especially to myself
4. What was your favorite experience from the fall season here at Seton Hall?
My entire time here has been great. I feel that I get better every day and I have really enjoyed getting to know the team and the coaches. I always look forward to practice as well.
5. What is the greatest lesson that you have learned from the game of golf?
The game of golf has taught me how much positive thinking can do for you. It really is mind over matter!
6. What accomplishment in your golf career are you most proud of?
I would have to say making the Seton Hall golf team and being a part of the first team in history!
7. In your free time, what do you enjoy doing besides spending time at the golf course?
I enjoy being involved in many groups on campus. I spend my time enjoying the company of my friends, doing art projects, reading and working out.
8. If you weren't on the golf team here, what other sports team would you most likely be interested in being on and why?
I would be most interested in being on the swim team. They are hard workers and I really admire that. I have never been a superb swimmer and would love to master that athletic skill. I want to do triathlons!
9. What is your major and why did you choose to study that?
My major is Marketing with a minor in Graphic Design. I choose this to give me leeway to decide what I want to do. I enjoy the creative end of designing but also love the administrative end that incorporates strategy, sales and management of marketing and advertising.
10. What goals do you have both on the golf course and in the classroom during your career here at Seton Hall?
I always want to improve and do better at everything. With golf, I do the best that I can and improve with practice and time. With Seton Hall, I have worked to get the most out of the academics and have truly enjoyed my time here.
