
Women's Basketball Falls at #13 DePaul, 77-59

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Seton Hall women's basketball team suffered a 77-59 loss to #13/18 DePaul on Saturday night at McGrath Arena . The Pirates (7-12, 0-6) will travel to USF on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Junior Kandice Green (Baltimore, Md.) scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in the second half, while junior Jasmine Crew (Camden, N.J.) and sophomore Brittany Morris (Raleigh, N.C.) netted 11 each. Morris also grabbed a career-high seven rebounds.
Keisha Hampton and Taylor Pikes scored 16 points apiece to pace the Blue Demons (19-2, 6-0), while Anna Martin added 12.
DePaul came out of the gates on a roll, hitting seven of its first eight shots on the way to an 18-2 lead by the 14:38 mark. The Pirates played the next four minutes even before allowing a 21-3 run, capped off by a three-point play from Hampton that made it 45-11.
Morris hit a pair of three-pointers and two free throws in an 11-2 spurt by the Hall that cut the deficit to 47-22 with 1:43 remaining. The Blue Demons took a 50-22 edge in halftime.
DePaul shot 51.6 percent in the opening 20 minutes while holding Seton Hall to 22.2 percent. The Pirates turned the ball over 18 times in the first half, leading to 22 points for the Blue Demons.
DePaul led by as many as 38 in the second half before the Hall closed the game on a 30-10 run over the final 11:12 behind the offense of Green.
The Blue Demons finished the night shooting 42.6 percent, with the Pirates checking in at a 30.2 percent clip. DePaul finished with 26 points off 26 Seton Hall turnovers. The Pirates did manage a 41-39 advantage on the glass.
