Women's Basketball Meet The Team Event A Success

The inaugural women's basketball meet the team party was held Sunday, October 23 in historic Walsh Gymnasium on the campus of Seton Hall University. Fans were introduced to the 2011-12 Pirates and their coaching staff. The players were greeted outside of their locker room by a high-five fan tunnel, composed of young and excited Pirate fans. An interactive question and answer session with the players followed, highlighted by impressions, singing, dancing, and in-depth answers about life as a student-athlete at Seton Hall.
Young Pirate fans were treated to a free basketball clinic, and by the excitement in the gym, thoroughly enjoyed it! Players and coaches ran stations focusing on defense, layups, passing and dribbling. Poster making, tattoos, food, and pictures with the cheerleaders, dance team, and mascot all paid tribute to the start of the women's basketball season! The event culminated with a player autograph session.
Entering her second year as head coach, Anne Donovan said the 2011-12 Pirates are a team of energetic and dedicated players who understand the balance between working hard and enjoying life.
"We were happy to be able to interact with our fans and have our players work one-on-one with young aspiring athletes," Donovan said of the first year event. "We are in the process of building a strong program here at Seton Hall, and hope to see a ton of fans continue to support us at our 15 home games this season."
