
Alex Maseko Set to Play at All-Africa Games

Seton Hall women's basketball junior Alex Maseko (Harare, Zimbabwe) was named to the Zimbabwe National Team to play at the All-Africa Games. Competition is slated to begin on September 6 and will run to September 16 in Mozambique.
Maseko saw a dramatic increase in playing time as a sophomore, playing in 26 games with nine starts. She led the team in blocks and posted career-highs with eight points and nine rebounds during the 2010-11 campaign. The 6'2" forward is no stranger to the All-Africa Games, having captained the U-20 squad in 2007.
The All-Africa Games are held once every four years, exclusively for the athletes of the African continent. It is organized by the Association of African National Olympic Committees. The first Games took place in 1965 in Brazzaville, Congo, and have official recognition from the International Olympic Committee as a continental multi-sport event.
