SCOUTING THE BULLS
Buffalo was picked to finish fourth in the MAC in 2011 after finishing last season at 18-16 overall and a trip to the conference quarterfinals. Abby Niekamp was named preseason All-MAC team. The senior middle blocker led the team with 2.46 kills/set and racked up a .336 attack percentage.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate posted an 18-12 overall record and a 10-4 mark in conference play and advanced all the way to the Patriot League Championship game. The Raiders return a pair of second team all-conference middle blockers in seniors Maureen Colligan and Kaylee Dougherty. Colligan posted 301 kills, which was fifth in the league, and added 62 total blocks. Dougherty had 206 kills and was second on the team with a hitting percentage of .227.
MATUSIAK CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Junior Meghan Matusiak became just the eighth player in school history to reach 1,000 kills. The senior co-captain accomplished the feat in the Pirates' BIG EAST Championship quarterfinal match against Louisville.
SHU IN SEASON OPENERS
Since 1987, the Hall is 12-12 in season openers and are 2-3 Kris Zeiter's tenure. The Pirates topped William & Mary in five sets in the 2010 season opener.
PIRATES TIE SCHOOL RECORD
With seven wins in BIG EAST play, the 2010 Pirates tied the school record for conference victories in a season, previously set in 1994.
TRUDEAU RISES IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Junior setter Olivia Trudeau is already up to fourth place all-time at Seton Hall in assists with a current total of 2,412. She is 1,987 out of third place, held by Casie Alexander, and and 2,392 behind the career record of 4,804 held by Brittany Rahrer.
WARREN DIGS HER WAY TOWARDS THE TOP
Sophomore Alyssa Warren recorded 520 digs in her rookie season, the third-best single-season total in school history and freshman record.
MATUSIAK HONORED
A year removed from All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, senior Meghan Matusiak earned a spot on the preseason All-BIG EAST team, picked by the conference coaches.
PRESEASON POLL
Seton Hall was picked sixth in this year's BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. It is the highest the Pirates have been slotted under fifth-year head coach Kris Zeiter. The Hall finished last season in a tie for sixth place.
WARREN IMPRESSES IN RED, WHITE & BLUE
For the second straight year, Alyssa Warren spent part of her summer as a member of the U.S. Junior National A2 Team, helping the squad to a bronze medal at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Tucson, Ariz.
NEW TO THE SHIP
SHU will welcome six newcomers to the program this fall including a pair of All-Americans in twin sisters Stacey and Shelbey Manthorpe. Shelbey is a setter who garnered Gatorade Player of the Year honors in the state of Pennsyvania. Stacey will vie for time at opposite and outside hitter.

Seton Hall is filming a season-long reality show on the 2010 volleyball season, entitled "Beyond the Net." Episodes will air exclusively on SHUPirates.com, the official website of Seton Hall Athletics.
