
Cross Country Has Best Showing of Season at Towson Invitational

TOWSON, Md. - The Seton Hall cross country teams had its best showings of the season after the men placed third out of eight teams and the women taking sixth out of 10 squads. The Pirates are back in action at the Metropolitan Championship at Van Cortlandt Park next Friday, October 7.
Freshman Mary Migton (Ledgewood, N.J.) took fourth place for her first career top-five finish in 19:19.05. Junior Jared Hanko (Montville, N.J.) had his best finish of the season, taking 13th place after completing the 8K in 27:08.97.
Sophomore Carl Johnston (Surrey, British Columbia) claimed 28th place, hitting the finish line in 28:47.61. Senior Andrew O'Leary (Liverpool, N.Y.) followed with his season-best time of 29:04.22 to take 32nd place. Sophomore Cory Hellwig (Vernon, N.J.) ran a 29:14.47, finishing 34th. Freshman Tyler Orner (Sinking Spring, Pa.) hit a mark of 29:25.99, placing 35th. Juniors Erik Chester (Danielson, Conn.) and Tony Cramond (Monroe, Conn.) rounded out the scoring finishing 38th (29:47.48) and 40th (30:18.83), respectfully.
Sophomore Nyala Eddings (Chicago, Ill.) was next for the women, crossing the tape in 21:28.13 to finish 29th. Junior Christina Chafos (South Amboy, N.J.) was 48th in 22:49.00. Junior Marigot Lustyk (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and freshman Louisa Ozimek (Strongsville, Ohio) cracked the scoring for the first time in their SHU careers, placing 58th (23:20.83) and 59th (23:23.09). Freshman Kristen May (Shrewsberry, Mass.) placed 61st (24:10.23) and sophomore Sophia Fils-Aime (Long Branch, N.J.) took 71st (27:43.54).
