
USF Bests Women's Basketball, 68-49

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The Seton Hall women's basketball team fell for the seventh straight time after a 68-49 defeat to USF on Saturday. Senior Jasmine Crew (Camden, N.J.) led all scorers with 22 points.
Crew knocked down 10-of-12 from the foul line and senior Tajay Ashmeade (Bronx, N.Y.) grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Pirates (7-12, 0-5).
Inga Orekhova dropped 20 points on 5-of-9 shooting from downtown.
The Bulls (10-8, 2-2) took control early after nine points by Orekhova put USF ahead, 19-6, with 13:37 left in the first half. After a Brittany Morris (Raleigh, N.C.) runner in the lane, SHU went without a field goal for over seven minutes as the Bulls extended the lead to 16 and took a 34-20 cushion into halftime.
In the second half, USF continued to dictate the pace and led by as many as 24 points as they went on for the win.
The Pirates shot just 27.3 percent from the field, while the Bulls converted on 42 percent. USF had 11 fastbreak points, while shutting Seton Hall out in that category.
