
WBB Opens 2012-13 Season

Donovan welcomes a deep batch of newcomers in addition to a number of accomplished veterans for the start of the new season.
Guard Brittany Morris (Raleigh, N.C.) forward Terry Green (Brentwood, N.Y.) and forward Alexandra Maseko (Harare, Zimbabwe) highlight the Pirates' senior class.
Morris and Green ranked in the top three in scoring for the Pirates last season while Maseko was the squad's second-leading rebounder with 4.7 boards per game. Morris started all 31 games at guard for Seton Hall, averaging 11.0 points per game while shooting 35 percent from three-point range. Green averaged 22.4 minutes per game as Seton Hall's sixth man, averaging 7.0 points per game and draining 47 three pointers.
Redshirt sophomore point guard Ka-Deidre Simmons (Newark, N.J.) returns after missing all of the 2011-12 season with an injury. The 2011 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team selection averaged 7.2 points and 3.4 assists per game during her first season with the Pirates.
Versatile sophomore guard Alexis Brown (Jacksonville, Fla.) saw action in 23 contests last season, making 12 starts. She average three points and 4.3 rebounds per game while seeing time in the frontcourt and backcourt for the Pirates. Sophomore center Chizoba Ekedigwe (Laurel, Md.) played in 20 games and senior forward Breanna Jones (Springfield, Va.) averaged 11.1 minutes per game in 25 appearances.
Seton Hall welcomes seven new faces to the team, featuring a freshman class that includes forward Sidney Cook (Parkton, N.C.), forward Tabatha Richardson-Smith (Bay City, Texas), guard Jasmine McCall (Manalapan, N.J.) and forward Shannise Heady (Hazel Crest, Ill.).
Junior forward Brittany Webb (New York, N.Y.), who played last season at ASA, junior forward Janee Johnson (Matthews, N.C.), who played her freshman season at Duke and spent one season at Gulf Coast Community College and sophomore Bra'Shey Ali (Plainsboro, N.J.), a transfer from Kentucky, round out the Seton Hall roster.
The Pirates open their 2012-13 season at home on Friday, Nov. 9, when they host NJIT at Walsh Gymnasium at 5 p.m.
Seton Hall's challenging non-conference schedule features home games against Lafayette (Nov. 11), Siena (Nov. 28), South Carolina (Dec. 2), Mount St. Mary's (Dec. 16), New Orleans (Dec. 19), Memphis (Dec. 22) and Wofford (Dec. 30), in addition to a trip to Malibu, Calif., for the Pepperdine Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 23-24.
The Pirates' 2013 BIG EAST Conference opener will be at home against Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m.
