As the Coordinator of Basketball Operations, Phillips' duties include assisting with recruit mailings and database management, coordinating alumni relations contacts and events and aiding the Anne Donovan Basketball Camp.
"I am thrilled to have April join our staff. I first met April in the NY Liberty training camp and was immediately impressed with her commitment to excellence, her work ethic and her passion for the game," said Donovan. "As a successful player at Xavier and professionally overseas, April has experienced a tremendous level of success in the game. She is a bright young star in our profession and an asset for our program."
Phillips was a two-sport athlete at Xavier University where she played basketball and was a member of the Musketeers' track & field team. She helped lead the Xavier women's basketball team to three-straight Atlantic-10 Championships (2008-10) and during her senior season the Musketeers advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 and she earned Third-Team All-Atlantic-10 honors.
Following her collegiate playing career Phillips spent three seasons playing professional basketball overseas. After attending the New York Liberty preseason camp in 2010, she signed for one season with Elitzur Rishion in Israel, one year with Pekka in Finland, and she suited up for Spirou Manceau in Belgium in 2012, where she averaged 15 points and 15 rebounds per game.
Off the court she has worked as a certifier of officials for the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OSHAA) and as the Co-President and trainer at S&A Next Level Basketball in Cincinnati, Ohio, coordinating NCAA certified women's summer league, training and camps.
A native of Long Beach, Calif., Phillips graduated from Xavier in 2010 with a degree in business information systems.
