PIRATES' STATUS
Seton Hall couldn't overcome a 23-8 early deficit as they fell to Villanova, 62-53, on Tuesday night. The Pirates rallied in the second half and pulled within two points, but the Wildcats three-point shooting kept SHU at bay. Senior Jasmine Crew bounced back after her two lowest scoring games of the season with 24 points. Despite playing with a small lineup, the Pirates outrebounded Villanova 40-31 and outscored their opponent, 28-12, in the paint. The Wildcats converted on 12-of-27 from downtown, which proved to be the difference.
RED STORM'S STATUS
St. John's strung together a 17-2 run in the second half to key a 66-51 victory at Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. After a back-and-forth first half, the Red Storm shot 53.3 percent in the second and led by as many as 22 points. Nadirah McKenith posted 10 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, while Da'Shena Stevens netted a game-high 19 points. St. John's defense forced 26 turnovers, while committing just 10. The Red Storm also dominated in the paint, outscoring the Panthers 46-14.

PIRATES EXCELLING FROM DEEP
For the second straight season, SHU is poised to break the program record for three-pointers made in a season. The Pirates had 144 makes in 2010-11 and are at 116 with at least eight more games this year. The Hall's 32.5 clip is also one of the highest in school history.
CHIPPING IN
For the first time all season, every player that saw action scored for the Pirates in their game at Villanova on Jan. 31. It was the first time SHU had eight players on the scoresheet since a Dec. 17 game against Stony Brook.
EASY BEING GREEN
Junior Terry Green tied the school record for three-pointers made in a game after going 7-for-7 from downtown against DePaul on Jan. 28. Her exploits tied Debbie Hartnett who drilled seven three's against Hofstra on December 17, 1988. In addition, she is just the second player to all seven triples in a BIG EAST game, joining Notre Dame's Alicia Ratay who accomplished the feat against Rutgers in 2000.
FINDING THE RANGE
For the first time since Dec. 30 at Memphis, the Pirates shot above 40-percent from the floor against Syracuse on Jan. 22. It also marked just the second time SHU has outshot its opponents in its last eight contests.
CREW POISED TO SET FREE-THROW RECORD
With her 120 free-throws made this season, Jasmine Crew is just 11 away from setting the single-season record with at least eight more games to play. Kandice Green set the mark of 130 in the 2009-10 season.
GOING THE DISTANCE
Senior Jasmine Crew received her first breather during a game since Jan. 7 on at USF on Jan. 25. For the season, she has played the entire way eight times and has logged over 35 minutes in all but three games.
MAGNIFICENT MORRIS
Junior Brittany Morris poured in a career-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting at Marquette on Jan. 7. It's the fourth time this season she's set a personal best in scoring this season. She followed that up with a 24 point performance at West Virginia on Jan. 10.
A CHANGE OF PACE
Head coach Anne Donovan has shuffled her starting lineup in eight of the Pirates last 10 games. Sophomore Jazzmine Johnson made her second straight start and was joined by freshman Alexis Brown as the Pirates started four guards.
CREW IN ELITE COMPANY
Senior Jasmine Crew nearly single-handedly brought SHU back from a halftime deficit at Memphis after scoring the first 12 points of the second frame on her way to a game-high 33 points. It marks her second 30-plus point game of the year. She is just the second player in program history to have a pair of 30-point games in a season, joining Geraldine Saintilus who accomplished the feat in the 1988-89 season.
