Warren to Participate in USA Volleyball Open Tryouts

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall University sophomore libero Alyssa Warren (Joliet, Ill.) is poised to participate in United States National Team open tryouts for the third-straight year.

She will join a record 210 student-athletes from across the nation at the three-day tryout session, to be held Friday-Sunday, Feb. 10-12, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Following last year's tryout, Warren was one of just 12 athletes selected to compete for the 2011 USA Volleyball Women's Junior A2 Program, which marked the second time she earned a spot at the national level.

She was a member of the U.S. Women's Junior A2 Red Team in 2010, a squad that finished second at the High Performance Championships that summer with Warren being named to the All-Tournament Team as Best Passer.

Warren led Seton Hall with 563 digs in 2011, the third-highest single-season total in program history. Through just two seasons she has tallied 1,083 digs, the fourth-highest career tally in SHU history, and she also holds the single match record of 45 digs, set on Sept. 16, against Boston College.

Warren was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Sept. 19, following her record-breaking performance against Boston College.
