PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior guard Jasmine Crew (Camden, N.J.) was selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, as announced by the conference today. The teams were selected by vote of the league coaches.
Crew averaged 18.5 points per game in the regular season, which ranked third in the conference. The only player in school history to post a pair of 30-point games in a season, her 556 total points is the third highest by a Pirate player. Crew also averaged 4.3 rebounds and dished out a team-best 99 assists.
She leads the BIG EAST with 165 free-throws made, which is also a single-season program record, and is fourth with an 84.2-percent percentage from the charity stripe. In just two seasons with Seton Hall, Crew has knocked down 232 foul shots, the 10th most in school history. In addition she shattered the single-game records for free-throws made and attempted, hitting 16-of-21 against Louisiana Tech on November 24.
Crew was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on three occasions and was tabbed conference player of the week on November 28 after being named to the Paradise Jam Island Division All-Tournament Team.
Seton Hall will open up the BIG EAST Championship on Friday, March 2, against Villanova at 6:00 p.m. All-session packages to the BIG EAST Women's Championship are available for just $99. To purchase yours, call Jessica Guerriero in the Seton Hall Ticket Office at 973-275-HALL or visit Ticketmaster.
