WBB Adds Transfer Bra'Shey Ali

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anne Donovan has announced that Bra'shey Ali (Plainfield, N.J.) will transfer to the University this fall after spending last the 2011-12 academic year at the University of Kentucky. As per NCAA transfer regulations, Ali will sit out the upcoming season and will be eligible to play in 2013-14.
"We are very excited to welcome Bra'Shey to our program," Donovan said. "We are very happy we could bring one of New Jersey's finest players from the class of 2011 closer to her hometown of Plainfield. Bra'Shey is a proven winner after helping Nazareth High School in New York to a state championship. She has great length and is a tremendous slasher, finisher and rebounder from the guard spot."
Ali is a 6-0 combination guard/forward who saw action in 11 games last season. Her best performance of the season came against Mississippi Valley State, where she shot a perfect 3-3 from the field while recording career highs in points (seven), rebounds (four), and blocks (three).
A product of Nazareth Regional High School, Ali was ranked as the No. 19 ranked forward by the Blue Star Basketball recruiting service. She averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game during her senior season to lead Nazareth to a 29-3 record and the CHSAA Class AA state championship and the New York State Federation Tournament of Champions title She spent her first three seasons of high school at St. Michael Academy in Manhattan, N.Y., where she won a state championship title in 2008-09.
