Manthorpe On BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Stacey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Pirates to a 4-0 week and earning MVP honors at the Carmichael Invitational over the weekend.

Manthorpe averaged 4.00 kills per set to lead the team and was strong defensively, posting 3.07 digs per frame. She began the tournament with 16 kills on a .519 clip and added 11 digs against Canisius. Manthorpe continued her hot offensive play with another 16-kill outing and committed just one error on 35 attempts (.429 attack percentage) while posting three blocks against Hartford. In a five-set victory over the Rams, Manthorpe sealed up her MVP honors with a double-double; 18 kills and 17 digs to lift the Pirates to the tournament title.

Louisville's Lola Arslanbekova was named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Silvi Uattara from Syracuse was tabbed conference Freshman of the Week.

Seton Hall will host Princeton in its home opener on Wednesday, September 15, at 7:00 p.m. in historic Walsh Gymnasium.
