It is the first time in her career that Maseko has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll in addition to the first time during the 2012-13 season a Seton Hall student-athlete has received conference accolades.
Maseko recorded a double-double with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in Seton Hall's 69-56 BIG EAST opening win over Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J. It is the first time the Pirates have gotten off to a winning start in conference play since a 54-43 win over Cincinnati on Jan. 5, 2008.
As for Maseko's performance on the court, it was her second-straight game registering a double-double, after scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the Pirates' 57-53 victory over Wofford on Dec. 30.
The senior post ranks third on the team in scoring with 7.9 points per game and leads the Pirates with 6.4 rebounds per game, both of which represent personal career-best numbers.
Maseko is averaging 10.6 points per game over Seton Hall's last five games, scoring in double figures three times, and is pulling down 8.3 rebounds per game over the past six contests when she led the Pirates in rebounding four times.
Seton Hall (6-8, 1-0) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 9, when it continues BIG EAST play against the University of Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Ohio and tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
