It is the second time this season and in her career Morris has received BIG EAST Honor Roll recognition; she also earned the accolade on Jan. 28.
Morris turned in a pair of spectacular performances for the Pirates last week, averaging 24.0 points per game while knocking down eight three pointers and shooting 43.6 percent (17-for-39) from the field.
In her most impressive game of the week, and perhaps of her season and career, Morris scored a career-high 28 points to lead Seton Hall to a 60-51 victory over St. John's on Saturday night in South Orange. The win snapped a 10-game losing streak to St. John's dating back to the 2007 season and avenged a 72-46 loss to the Red Storm from earlier this season.
Morris shot 10-for-22 from the field in the win, tying her career-high with 10 made field goals, and also drained five three pointers, which moved her into a tie for first place on the Seton Hall single-season three-point list with 69 this year.
Earlier in the week, Morris scored 20 points behind three three pointers in a 72-62 loss at No. 16 Louisville.
Morris leads Seton Hall and ranks 17th in the BIG EAST averaging 13.6 points per game. She has led the Pirates in scoring 17 times this season and has scored in double figures 20 times with six 20-point games. Over the last five games Morris scored 20 or more points four times and is averaging 19.6 ppg over that stretch.
In BIG EAST play her numbers are even more impressive. Scoring at a clip of 14.8 ppg against conference foes, she ranks 14th in the league in conference-only scoring where she is also averaging 2.9 treys per game, which is tied for the second-best mark in the BIG EAST.
Morris is Seton Hall's all-time three-point field goal leader with 173 in her career and she is closing in on the program's top-20 scoring list. With 966 points her in career, she sits just 24 points Ashley Bush ('01-'05) for 20th place in school history.
Seton Hall finished the regular season with a 10-19 overall record and a 5-11 mark in BIG EAST play, earning the No. 12 seed in the 2013 BIG EAST Championship. The Pirates will face No. 13 seed Cincinnati in the tournament's first round on Friday, March 8, at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., at 4 p.m.
The five conference victories are the most for Seton Hall since the 2006-07 season when it went 9-7 in the BIG EAST and the 10 overall wins are the most since 2008-09. As the 12 seed in the conference tournament the Pirates captured their best finish in the BIG EAST since that 2006-07 campaign when they finished ninth.
