ROSELLE, N.J. – Seton Hall University head women’s basketball coach Anthony Bozzella was part of a distinguished panel of coaches that spoke at the inaugural New Jersey Coaches Clinic at Roselle Catholic High School on Friday, April 12.
The clinic, which was open to coaches at all levels from college to high school, CYO, AAU and travel teams featured some of the most accomplished coaches in college basketball. In addition to Bozzella the clinic was attended by Hall of Famers Jim Boeheim, Syracuse University head men’s basketball coach, and Larry Brown, former NBA Champion coach with the Detroit Pistons and the current head men’s basketball coach at Southern Methodist University.
“It was such an honor to speak to a tremendous amount of coaches from the tri-state area,” Bozzella said. “It was a great privilege to be on a panel with some of the most accomplished coaches in the history of men’s college basketball.”
Other coaches speaking at the clinic were Phil Martelli, head men’s basketball coach at St. Joseph’s University, Jay Wright, head men’s basketball coach at Villanova University, Tom Crean, head men’s basketball coach at Indiana University, Thad Matta, head men’s basketball coach at Ohio State University and Bob Huggins, head men’s basketball coach at West Virginia University.
The all-day event provided each coach with a forum to highlight a variety of topics, whether they were sharing their personal on-court tactical knowledge or tips on drills and running practice.
Bozzella specifically shared insight regarding transition offense and how to effectively get high school kids noticed and recruited.
“I always want to give back and I was proud to represent Seton Hall and our tremendous University,” Bozzella said. “I’m hoping to be invited back each year.”
