
Shelbey Manthorpe Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y.,/b> - Junior Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Manthorpe was instrumental in leading the Pirates to a 3-1 week, including a pair of victories at the 2013 Cavalier Classic. The Pirates' setter was named to the All-Tournament Team while leading Seton Hall to a straight-set victory over William & Mary and a come-from-behind win over Columbia. In four matches last week, she posted an impressive .443 attack percentage.
Manthorpe led the Pirates in assists in all four matches and tallied triple-doubles vs. Princeton and Columbia. Against Princeton, she tallied a rare three-set triple-double with 23 assists, 12 kills and 13 digs. Against Columbia, she had a season-high 46 assists, 11 kills and 10 digs. Manthorpe now has three triple-doubles this season and 15 for her illustrious career.
Other honorees this week include DePaul's Abbie Fleener, who was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, and Marquette's Autumn Bailey, who was named Rookie of the Week. Those joining Manthorpe on the honor roll include Creighton's Michelle Sicner, Marquette's Lindsey Gosh, St. John's Aleksandra Wachowicz and Villanova's Lauren Carpenter.
Manthorpe and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday when they open the BIG EAST portion of the schedule at St. John's. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
