Seton Hall is coming off a perfect 2-0 week which saw key victories over Creighton and Georgetown at Walsh Gym. On Friday, the Pirates hosted Creighton in a matchup of the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the conference. Both teams entered with an unblemished 5-0 record. Seton Hall tallied a season-high 22 team blocks as it rallied to defeat Creighton, 3-2 (25-17, 21-25, 20-25, 25-15, 15-9). Four individuals had at least five blocks, with senior Ashani Rubin (Philadelphia, Pa.) leading the way with a career-high 12 blocks. On Friday, Seton Hall will travel to DePaul in search of its 12th straight win. The Blue Demons were predicted to finish ninth in the BIG EAST this season and have won just one of their first seven conference matches. The Pirates have never lost to DePaul in 10 prior meetings all-time. Most recently, they defeated the Blue Demons in four sets at Walsh Gym on Nov. 17 last season. On Saturday, Seton Hall will face another major test as it travels to Marquette. The Golden Eagles are the defending BIG EAST champions and were predicted to finish second in the league this season. They feature preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year Autumn Bailey and have beaten the Pirates in their last six meetings. Seton Hall is just 3-8 in 11 prior meetings all-time with Marquette. The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 5-2 BIG EAST record.
