Set two appeared as though it was going to be just as close as set one, but it turned into a blowout. With the score tied at eight, Marquette took control. The Golden Eagles scored nine straight points to take a commanding 17-8 advantage. The lead grew to as large as 10 points, and Seton Hall was able to cut it in half twice, but couldn't get closer. Marquette tied the match with a 25-19 set two victory. Marquette's offense was significantly more impressive in set two, attacking at a .310 rate.
Seton Hall started quickly in set three, scoring five of the first seven points. Block assists by Ashani Rubin (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Dani Schroeder extended the Pirates' lead to 11-6. The Pirates led by as many as six points, 17-11, but the Golden Eagles came charging back with an 8-2 run to take a 20-19 lead. With Marquette ahead 24-23, a kill by Schroeder staved off a set point to tie the set at 24. With the score tied at 25, a kill by Stacey Manthorpe put The Hall in set point and a bad set by Marquette handed a set three victory to Seton Hall, 27-25.

Set four was all Seton Hall. Marquette never led as the Pirates scored five of the first seven points for the second straight set. The lead grew to six at 9-3 on an ace by Shelbey Manthorpe. Marquette cut the Pirate lead to 11-9, but the Pirates responded with five unanswered points to take a commanding 16-9 advantage. The lead grew to nine on a kill by Stacey Manthorpe, 19-10, and from there, the Golden Eagles didn't get closer than six points. A kill by Amanda Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis.) sent Seton Hall to a 25-16 set four win and a 3-1 match victory.
Stacey Manthorpe was dominant in the deciding set, recording eight kills and a .400 attack percentage in the final set alone. As a team, The Hall had its best offensive set of the night, tallying 17 kills and just three attack errors for a match-high .368 attack percentage.
