SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall senior Stacey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Manthorpe was instrumental in the Pirates winning three of four matches in last weekend's Seton Hall Invitational. Named to the All-Tournament Team, she tallied two double-doubles and led all the players in the five-team tournament in kills. On Friday vs. Cornell, Manthorpe tallied 11 kills and 12 digs to go with a .296 attack percentage. Later that day, she notched a team-high 13 kills to go with seven digs vs. Siena. On Saturday, Manthorpe totaled 17 digs and eight kills in a sweep of Rutgers. In the nightcap, Manthorpe registered arguably the best match of her impressive career. Against UNLV, she matched her career-high with 18 kills and set a career-high with 26 digs.
St. John's Karin Palgutova was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Butler's Makayla Ferguson earned Freshman of the Week honors. Joining Manthorpe on the honor roll were Creighton's Kelli Browning, Georgetown's Lauren Saar, Marquette's Autumn Bailey and Xavier's Alex Blair.
Manthorpe and the rest of the Pirates will return to action next weekend when it travels to Morgantown, W. Va. for three matches at the West Virginia invitational. The Pirates will face Montana and host West Virginia on Friday and St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday.
