10/10/2015 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Seton Hall men's soccer team (0-9-1, 0-3-0 BIG EAST) suffered a 1-0 setback in its first conference road match of the season at Marquette (5-4-1, 1-1-1). The loss dropped The Hall to 3-5-3 all-time against MU in a series that has been played once a year since 2005.
After a scoreless first half in which each team fired six shots and one on target, Marquette finally broke through with a goal in the 52nd minute. The Hall's best late chances at an equalizer came from a Patrick Burd (Hillsborough, N.J.) shot on goal in the 85th minute and a wide attempt from Spencer Burkhardt (Palmyra, Pa.) in the 89th minute, but the Pirates were unable to find an equalizer.
The Hall out-shot Marquette by four and fired six shots on goal compared to two for MU, but could not solve Golden Eagle keeper Luis Barraza who turned in a six-save clean sheet. Andres Arcila (Cartagena, Colombia) led the Pirates with three shots and Samuel Geiler (Offenburg, Germany) fired a pair on target.

Seven minutes into the second half of a scoreless contest, Marquette's David Selvaggi gained space at the top of the penalt area and unleashed a hard shot past a diving Brandon Barnes (Cary, Ill.) and into the bottom left corner of the net.
