Her lone steal of the night came in a huge moment. With under a minute to play, she stripped Brittany Hrynko near midcourt, creating a fast break the other direction. Simmons passed forward to a wide open Ka-Deidre Simmons (Newark, N.J.), who finished at the rim to give the Pirates a 77-75 lead.

Four of those steals came in the second half as the Pirates increased their defensive pressure with a full-court pickup after every made basket. The Hall pulled within two on a number of occasions, making it 59-57 following another Daisha Simmons steal and a Ka-Deidre Simmons layup on the break, but the Pirates were unable to pull any closer.
