Dani Schroeder Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall junior Danielle Schroeder (Chicago, Ill.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Schroeder helped the Pirates to a road split of their first two BIG EAST Conference matches last weekend. The outside hitter led Seton Hall with 11 kills to go with six digs in a four-set loss at Creighton on Friday. She led the Pirates again on Sunday with a 15-kill outburst and just one attack error for a .400 attack percentage at Georgetown. Schroeder also recorded three service aces, five digs and five blocks in a fine all-around performance in the nation's capital. Over the weekend, she surpassed 500 kills for her career.
Xavier's Abbey Bessler was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Creighton's Jaali Winters earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. Those joining Schroeder on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Mary Striedl, Creighton's Lauren Smith, Marquette's Joy Miley and St. John's Karin Palgutova.
Schroeder and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday, Oct. 2 when they return to Walsh Gymnasium for a BIG EAST contest against DePaul. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
