Pirates Set For 2016 SHU Thanskgiving Classic

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Set to return to Walsh Gym for the first time in over a week, the Seton Hall women's basketball team (3-1) will host the 2016 SHU Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 27 at Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates will open tournament play with Central Connecticut State (1-3) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. before taking on either UT-Arlington (3-0) or San Diego State (1-3) on Sunday afternoon. Both Seton Hall contests in the Classic will be available live and FREE on the Pirate Sports Network with Jon Schaeffer and former Pirate Tajay Ashmeade ('12) on the call.Â

TOURNAMENT SUCCESS
- This weekend will mark the 25th regular season tournament hosted by Seton Hall at Walsh Gym
- Since 2013-14 The Seton Hall Classic has been played over Thanksgiving Weekend, with the Pirates a perfect 4-0 since the shift
- The first tournament hosted by SHU came in the 1986-87 season
- Overall in home tournament action the Pirates are 41-7 for an 85.4 winning percentage and have gone 2-0 in the tournament in 17 of 24 iterations
- Last season The Hall took part in the 2015 Cancun Challenge, defeating NC State and Northern Iowa to win the Riviera Maya Division
- Under Anthony Bozzella, Seton Hall is 6-0 in holiday tournament play
