Pirates Visit Princeton On Wednesday Evening

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Seton Hall women's basketball team (4-2) is back in action on Wednesday when it heads south to take on Princeton (2-4) at Jadwin Gymnasium. Tip-off in the Garden State rivalry clash is set for 6 p.m., available streaming on ESPN3 and on the radio on WSOU, 89.5 FM.
The Pirates and Tigers will meet for the third time in the last four seasons, with The Hall winning each of the prior two contests. Last season The Hall notched a 71-64 victory over Princeton at Walsh Gym, snapping PU's 32-game regular season winning streak. In three-plus seasons under Anthony Bozzella the Pirates are 9-2 against New Jersey foes, with the Princeton match-up serving as the first of three such contests this season (at Rutgers on Dec. 13, vs. Rider on Dec. 18).

Over the weekend the Pirates hosted the 2016 SHU Thanksgiving Classic, finishing as runners-up in the tournament.Â
Following Wednesday's contest, the Pirates will host their second ACC foe of the year when Wake Forest visits Walsh Gymnasium on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.

- Like Seton Hall, the Tigers have made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in the last two years
- Bella Alarie leads Princeton in scoring with 12.5 points per game, shooting 42.6 from the floor and 38.5 percent from 3-point range
- Leslie Robinson leads PU with 7.7 rebounds per game and has scored 7.8 per contest, also notching a team-best 15 assists on the season
- The Tigers are out-rebounding opponents by 3.0 per game and have held opponents to 23.1 percent from 3-point range

- The Hall opened the tournament with a semifinal victory over Central Connecticut, downing the Blue Devils by a score of 78-70 in overtime
- Hilaire paced The Hall with a career-high 24 points in the triumph, while Lubirdia Gordon (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) notched career-bests of 13 points and 15 rebounds
- Smith also recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, adding six assists, four steals and no turnovers
- In the Championship the Pirates fell to UT-Arlington by a score of 86-61
- Hilaire again led the Pirates with 15 points and dished out five assists, while Jackson scored 14 points in her first action since Nov. 15
- The Pirates fell to 42-8 all-time in home regular season tournament action and dropped their first home non-conference contest under Bozzella
- Following the conclusion of the tournament, Gordon and Hilaire were named to the All-Tournament Team
- The Pirates have faced Princeton twice under Bozzella, after the programs did not meet from 1996-2014.Â
