LITTLE ROCK, ARK. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will complete the fall season with the 2017 Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club, Oct. 23-24.
Â
Tournament Details:
LITTLE ROCK INVITATIONAL
Host: University of Arkansas – Little Rock
Location:Â Little Rock, Ark.
Course:Â Chenal Country Club (Bear Den Course)
Course Vitals:Â Par-72, 7,326 yards
Dates:Â October 23-24, 2017, Three Rounds
Â
The Course:
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Bear Den Mountain Course is imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. Mr. Jones, creator of more than 125 of the world's best courses, including Monterey and Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA, preserved the integrity of the rolling, wooded terrain of western Little Rock while developing two majestic courses.
Â
With its tight, tree-lined fairways, crystal clear creeks and protected wildlife areas, the 7,326-yard Bear Den Course incorporates the natural features of the site, distinguishing it from the more open qualities of the original Founders Course.
Â
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and Little Rock, the small field includes nine other schools:Â Arkansas State, Bradley, Central Arkansas, Dayton, Houston Baptist, Illinois State, Oklahoma, Stephen F. Austin and UT-Arlington.
Â
The Seton Hall Lineup:
Individual – Andres Acevedo, Freshman
Â
Last Time Out:
Junior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) collected his third top-10 finish of the fall and helped lead the Pirates to a third place team finish at the 2017 Georgetown Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Yeom shot a 4-over-par, 75, in the final round to finish in eighth place among 60 individual golfers. For the three-round event, he shot an 8-over-par, 74-72-75-221. Yeom finished just two strokes behind six golfers who tied for first place at 6-over-par.
Â
Collectively, Seton Hall shot a solid 15-over-par, 299, in round three, but due to strong rounds by Georgetown and Rutgers, it fell to a third place finish. For the tournament, the Pirates were 46-over-par with a 306-293-299-898. Georgetown won the team title, only four strokes ahead of The Hall, while the Scarlet Knights finished just one stroke ahead for second place.
Â
Tee Times:
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. On Tuesday, a single final round will be played with again a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.Â
Â
Results:
Live scoring will be available for the tournament via Golfstat. Complete results will also be available following each day's competition at SHUpirates.com.
