Fairfax, Va. – The Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team has high expectations heading into the final team competition of the fall at this week's Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason Nov. 16-18.
The Pirates (5-4, 2-1 BIG EAST) have had an up and down fall, but have had several individuals post stellar results that rank among the top in the BIG EAST. This week's competition provides the opportunity for the team to head into the break with confidence and an idea of where they need to improve upon heading into dual meet season.
In perhaps its strongest area, Seton Hall has impressed In the sprints to this point in the season. Senior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.), junior Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) and sophomore Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.) own the top two times in both the 50 and 100 free.
Kauth, Yanchuls and sophomore Joshua Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) have each picked up BIG EAST Conference Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week Honors this season. Tosoni owns the top BIG EAST time in both the 100 and 200 breast this season (56.84 and 2:05.10).
Junior Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel), seniors Cody Wimmer (Macungie, Pa.) and Vadim Jacobson (Arnold, Md.) and junior Ivan Michalovic (Glen Mills, Pa.) have all been steady fixtures as top finishers in the middle-distance/distance events.
