Abby Thelen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall junior Abby Thelen (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
It's the second straight week that Thelen has received the prestigious distinction.
Thelen continued to be the driving offensive force for the Pirates in four matches last week. The Kentucky native led the Pirates in kills in all four matches and tallied a pair of double-doubles. On Wednesday, she recorded 15 kills, 11 digs and three blocks at Princeton. On Friday, she had 16 kills and five digs in a victory over Cincinnati. On Saturday at Illinois State, she erupted for 22 kills, 10 digs and four blocks in a come-from-behind road win. She completed the tournament with an 11-kill performance in only three sets vs. Dayton. For her efforts, she was named to the Redbird Classic All-Tournament Team.
Butler's Whitney Beck was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Creighton's Brittany Witt was named Defensive Player of the Week. Villanova's Mallory Potts was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Thelen on the Honor Roll include: Creighton's Jaali Winters, Marquette's Allie Barber, Providence's Addison Root and St. John's Kayley Wood.
The Pirates will return to action tonight when they host Hofstra in Walsh Gym. Match time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
