SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – With the stretch run of the regular season upon us, there are plenty of things for Pirate fans to look out for with the women's basketball team in the coming weeks.
Play4Kay National Free Throw Challenge
For all of the month of February, Seton Hall and the BIG EAST are collaborating with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to raise money in support of the fight against ALL women's cancers. Fans can pledge per each free throw made by the Pirates in February at the link here. The Hall's annual "Play4Kay Pink Game" will be on Feb. 23 against Marquette. The Pirates have four home games and seven total contests in the month of February so there are plenty of opportunities to support the cause!
Pirates to Host National Girls and Women In Sports Day Before Sellout Contest
As it has for the last several years, Seton Hall will host the NJSIAA and NJAIAW Woman of the Year Luncheon in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, Feb. 4 prior to the 1 p.m. game against Butler. This special event recognizes the outstanding athletic and academic achievements of female collegiate and high school athletes throughout the state of New Jersey. This year's honor award recipients are Northeast Conference Commissioner Noreen Morris and Rutgers Prep Girls Basketball Coach Mary Ann Coyle. The theme of the even is "Play Fair, Play IX." The game against Butler is SOLD OUT.
Blue Beard Army Bus Trip To St. John's
For The Hall's rivalry game at St. John's on Feb. 16, there will be a limited number of tickets available for Blue Beard Army members as well as the general public. Tickets include bus transportation and are $5 for Blue Beard Army members and $10 for non-students or non-members. More details on departure time will be available at a later date. Tickets go on sale at the ticket office on Feb. 1. The Pirates took the first leg of the season series with the Red Storm back on Jan. 21, a 62-57 victory at Walsh Gym.
