Strong Second Round for Yeom at Mountaineer

BRIDGEPORT, W.VA. – Senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) fired a 2-under-par, 70, in the second round of the 2018 Mountaineer Intercollegiate and has guided the Pirates to 11th place with 18 holes remaining.
The field completed round two this morning after it was interrupted due to darkness last night. Most golfers had about three holes to complete.
Yeom was brilliant in the second round, using three birdies and 14 pars to fuel a 2-under-par score, his 24th career sub-par round. Through two rounds, he is 4-over-par with a 78-70-148. Yeom was in 16th place after two rounds, and trailed the individual leader, Boston College's Matt Naumec, by 10 strokes.
Collectively, the Pirates shot a 21-over-par, 309, in round two. Through two rounds, they are 38-over-par with a 305-309-614. They trail the team leader and host, West Virginia, by 29 strokes entering the final round. Two other BIG EAST competitors are in the field. Georgetown is four strokes ahead of Seton Hall in ninth place, while St. John's is 13 strokes behind the Pirates in 14th place.
Senior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) shot a 7-over-par, 79, in the second round. Through two rounds, he has a 9-over-par, 74-79-153.
Both sophomore Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) shot an 8-over-par, 80, in round two. Ramachandran is currently 12-over-par with a 76-80-156, while Acevedo is one stroke behind at 13-over-par with a 77-80-157.
Sophomore Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) fired an 11-over-par, 83, in round two. He is currently 20-over-par with an 81-83-164.
Competing as an individual, freshman Hunter Ramee (Warren, Conn.) is currently 22-over-par with a 77-89-166.

Tee Times:
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Akron and Boston College for the first two rounds. On Tuesday, a single final round will be played with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. Pairings will be determined by the results of the first two rounds.
