The Hall Drops Friday Matinee at Georgetown
2/9/2018 3:58:00 PM | Women's Basketball
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (15-10, 7-7 BIG EAST) dropped a 71-52 decision at Georgetown (11-12, 6-7 BIG EAST) on Friday afternoon at McDonough Arena. Inja Butina (Zagreb, Croatia) was the only Pirate to finish in double-figures with a team-high 13 points in the setback.
The Pirates trailed by eight at the break before cutting the lead to five headed to the fourth quarter, but a 24-10 edge for the Hoyas in the final frame put the game out of reach. The Hall was mired by a poor shooting day and 20 turnovers, while Georgetown was able to capitalize on 15 offensive rebounds in its win. The result means a season split between the Pirates and Hoyas after a 70-65 Seton Hall win in South Orange on Jan. 14.
Inside The Numbers
The Pirates are back in action on Sunday at Villanova. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at the Jake Nevin Fieldhouse and the contest will air on FS2.
