Turning Point
The Pirates held possession through the first few minutes of action, breaking through to open the scoring in the third minute. Tibbling forced a turnover deep in the attacking third, then unloaded a hard arcing shot towards goal. The blast appeared to be partially tipped by a Golden Eagle, but its velocity was enough to still make its way over the top of MU keeper Luis Barraza and into the back of the net.
Tibbling would double up early in the second half, making a tremendous run and dribbling past a slew of harassing defenders before tucking a shot past a lunging Barraza. From that point on the Pirates were able to control the match, with Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) and The Hall's backline thwarting any Marquette rush.
