
Kretlow Paces Pirates at Metropolitan Championship

Bronx, N.Y. - Sophomore Cole Kretlow (Oakland, Calif.) of the Seton Hall men's cross country team turned in a top-20 performance to lead the Pirates at the 2019 Metropolitan Championship Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Kretlow ran a time of 27:17.3 in the 5-mile (8.05K) race to place 19th as the Pirates finished fifth as a team.
Kretlow has now finished among his teammates third or better in five of six races this season.
Coming in behind Kretlow was freshman Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.), who finished 28th with a time of 27:43.9. This was his best finish among his teammates, having placed fourth among his Pirates brethren in each of the last two meets.
Seton Hall will now begin training for the 2019 BIG EAST Championship, to take place Saturday, Nov. 2 in Kenosha, Wis. The BIG EAST Digital Network will have coverage of the event.
