SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Five players scored in double-figures and junior Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) netted a double-double as the Seton Hall women's basketball team upended Jefferson, 98-54, in an exhibition game Wednesday in Walsh Gym.

Elmore came off the bench to score 16 points, pull down 10 rebounds and grab three steals in only 26 minutes.

Senior Shadeen Samuels (Ossining, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points in only 23 minutes. Senior Barbara Johnson (Toronto, Ontario), Alexis Lewis (Pittston, Pa.) and Jasmine Smith (Houston, Texas) scored 17 points, 14 points and 10 points respectively.

Freshman Lauren Park-Lane (Hockessin, Del.) got the start at point guard and early had a double-double with nine points, 10 assists and no turnovers.

Turning Point:
Seton Hall led from wire-to-wire and the game wasn't close from the start. Lewis sunk her first of four first quarter three-pointers just five seconds into the contest and the Pirates never looked back. Leading 13-7, The Hall erupted for a 14-2 run, and a three-point play by Elmore put it comfortably on top, 27-9.

Seton Hall drilled 11 three-pointers in the first half alone and took a 30-point lead, 55-25, into the break.

Inside the Numbers:

Seton Hall was 38-for-77 (49.4%) from the floor for the game, while Jefferson was 19-for-52 (36.5%). The Hall was 14-for-32 (43.8%) from three-point range, while the Rams were 3-for-20 (15.0%).
The Pirates out-rebounded the Rams, 41-to-35.
The Hall was 8-for-10 (80.0%) from the free-throw line, while Jefferson was 13-for-23 (56.5%).
Seton Hall forced 31 Jefferson turnovers, while committing only 17 for the game.
Elmore notched a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
Samuels had a game-high 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting, including a trio of three-pointers.
Johnson had 17 points and three made three-pointers.
Lewis tallied 14 points, four rebounds and a team-best four three-pointers.
Park-Lane nearly had a double-double with nine points, 10 assists and no turnovers.
Smith tallied 10 points in only 16 minutes.
