Seton Hall will open the 2019-20 regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 6 when it hosts Sacred Heart at historic Walsh Gymnasium. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The contest will be carried live by the Pirate Sports Network and on the radio via 89.5 FM WSOU. It will also be available via live stats.Â

The contest will be a SHIPS Prize Pick-Up game for Seton Hall students.

LAST GAME
Five players scored in double-figures and junior Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) netted a double-double as the Pirates upended Jefferson, 98-54, in an exhibition game Wednesday in Walsh Gym.

Elmore came off the bench to score 16 points, pull down 10 rebounds and grab three steals in only 26 minutes. Senior Shadeen Samuels (Ossining, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points in only 23 minutes. Senior Barbara Johnson (Toronto, Ontario), Alexis Lewis (Pittston, Pa.) and Jasmine Smith (Houston, Texas) scored 17 points, 14 points and 10 points respectively.

Freshman Lauren Park-Lane (Hockessin, Del.) got the start at point guard and early had a double-double with nine points, 10 assists and no turnovers.

LAST MEETING
Seton Hall and Sacred Heart haven't played in over 40 years. The last time they competed for "SHUpremacy" was on Feb. 13, 1979 when the Pirates edged out a seven-point victory. The Pioneers have never won in the series in three all-time meetings.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART
Sacred Heart finished the 2018-19 season with a 19-13 record and a semifinal loss in the NEC Tournament. The Big Red earned a bid to the WNIT, but was routed by Georgetown, 90-59 in the opening round.

Sacred Heart tied for third in the 2019-20 Preseason NEC Coaches' Poll. Junior Adrianne Hagood was named to the Preseason All-NEC Team.
